Job Description
-
Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals in
diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of
equipment and following prescribed procedures.

Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials,
calculates doses and administers doses under the direction
of a physician.

Calibrates equipment.

Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by
physician using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect
radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on
photographic film.

Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and
scintillation detectors.

Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of
radioactive materials.
Job Requirements

Must have a Limited Scope Certification.

Must be physically capable of transporting patients.
-
Must demonstrate an ability to communicate well with others.
-
Must be accepted into a Nuclear Medicine academic and
accredited program.
