Job Description

Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic
and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and
following prescribed procedures.

Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate
doses and administers doses under the direction of a physician.

Calibrates equipment.

Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician
using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted
and to produce image of organ on photographic film.

Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation
detectors.

Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive
materials.
Job Requirements
-
Must be a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Certified either
by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) or the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Must have good patient relationship skills, attention to details,
ability to operate equipment and a team player attitude.

Must demonstrate radiation safety techniques when handling radioactivity.
