Job Description

• Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses and administers doses under the direction of a physician.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.

Job Requirements

• Must be a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Certified either by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Must have good patient relationship skills, attention to details, ability to operate equipment and a team player attitude.
• Must demonstrate radiation safety techniques when handling radioactivity.
